PERSONALITY !

Beomgyu could probably befriend a brick wall if he set his mind to it. If not in the Great Hall jumping into a random conversation, you'll often find him chatting with the paintings, or whichever ghost decided to humor him that day. He absolutely loves Care of Magical Creatures class as one of his electives, now that he has reached his third year, because now he can befriend those guys too.He is still so very curious about everything, especially because the magical world is still so new to him - even if this curiosity often gets him into tough situations. Half of the sentences that leave Beomgyu's mouth are questions. You've been warned. Curiosity does not correlate with skill, however. He still often struggles with his spells (his dyslexia doesn't help in the slightest), but his boundless spirit rarely allows him to feel down about his failures. Beomgyu will just try again and again until he gets it right.He might be quite loud and often lost in his own world, but deep inside he has a heart of gold for those he cares about. He is a Gryffindor, after all, and those who know him best know exactly why the Sorting Hat yelled "GRYFFINDOR!" almost immediately as it touched the boy's head.He might seem reckless, but that's because he always acts before he thinks when it comes to the things and people he's passionate about. He might seem loud-spoken, but that's because he wants to fit into this magical world, having been born as a Muggle. He might seem clingy or annoying to his classmates, but that's because he easily gets lonely and has always wanted siblings in his life. He might seem naive and impulsive, but that's because at the end of it all, he's brave at heart.

BACKGROUND !

Beomgyu was born in his hometown of Daegu, South Korea as a Muggle. As a little kid, he was full of energy, curiosity, and laughter - but that soon faded when he hit his teenage years. He did not have a troubled childhood or family situation by any means, except that his parents were rarely home due to their jobs requiring them to travel a lot of the time. But somehow as he grew up, his entire world turned to grey. To him, his life was completely and utterly boring. He felt like he was wandering aimlessly, always looking for something to be passionate about but coming out empty-handed. He was missing the spark in his life that everyone else seemed to have found already. Back then, Beomgyu was basically the polar opposite of how he is now - quiet, reserved, anti-social, pessimistic, and emotionally aloof.It didn’t stop him from trying, though. Throughout high school, he spent lots of effort trying to find this spark - trying out different hobbies, hanging out with different types of people (even what one may call the wrong crowd), dating, you name it. Nothing worked. With every failure, he was pushed further and further into the darkness until one day he just decided to give up. It wasn’t worth it anymore.That is, until he got his Hogwarts acceptance letter. Beomgyu will never forget that rainy day, and will often cite it as the best day of his life. That letter changed everything. It introduced him to a completely new universe full of wonder that was all his to explore - his spark. To him, every day at Hogwarts is like living a childhood dream, and he wants to make the most of it.Deep inside, though, he’s always afraid of waking up from this dream. His biggest fear is waking up one day to find out that everything about his life at Hogwarts had disappeared as quickly as he had found it. Beomgyu has frequent nightmares about this fear, hence why he avoids sleeping most of the time and will often fall asleep in various locations on campus. Sleepless nights are also the reason his favorite spell has, and always will be lumos - that light from the tip of his wand is his main company during most nights. Sometimes, it will get so bad that he dissociates or distances himself from the people around him as a defense mechanism to prepare himself for everything to disappear.At times, he may express disinterest or even avoid the topic of the Muggle world despite many of his classmates being fascinated by it. This reaction is because being a Muggle is the part of himself he hates the most, as it is a constant reminder of the darkness he left behind.
